THE INTERUNIVERSITARY NMR FACILITY

INMRF

Mission Statement

The Interuniversitary NMR Facility (INMRF) will provide unprecedented opportunities, for all researchers of the UGent, VUB and UA as well as those from other academic milieu's and from industry,to apply high field and high resolution liquid state NMR techniques in homogeneous solutions and at liquid-solid interfaces (hrMAS NMR) in fundamental, basic and applied research in the chemical, material and biomolecular sciences

INMRF involves the :

  • Universiteit Gent represented by the NMR and Structure Analysis research unit (Prof. dr. J. Martins)
  • Vrije Universiteit Brussel, represented by the High-resolution NMR Centre (HNMR) (Prof. dr. R. Willem)
  • Universiteit Antwerpen, represented by the Applied NMR unit (Prof. dr. R. Dommisse)

INMRF groups together three state-of-the-art three-channel BRUKER AVANCE II consoles operating 700 MHz (UGent), 500 MHz (VUB) and 400 MHz (UA), with hrMAS facilities at the UGent and the VUB and facilities dedicated to 19 F including triple channel 1H,19F,nX measurements (UA).

On a yearly basis, 80% of the 700 MHz instrument time has been reserved for the INMRF partners as follows:

  • 66% for the UGent
  • 21% for the VUB
  • 13% for the UA

The remaining 20% is open to all researchers interested to make use of the equipment, whether academic or industrial.
